Background and qualifications:

I was the first one to begin reading in my first grade class. I caught on to the logic and rules very quickly. My grammar school years were an exciting time for me, because of the opportunities to read, write, proofread, etc. My math skills are another story entirely... :(

In my working years, most of my positions involved assisting executive level management, where it was my responsibility to be sure that all correspondence, inner-office communications, and presentations were accurate. I worked in this capacity for a period of approximately 15 years.

I am much attuned to situations where people use incorrect grammar and punctuation when speaking or writing. It has been one of my pet peeves since childhood.

As the single parent of my son, I was very involved in his homework, most especially, the English, Spelling, and Writing. I also volunteered as a Big Sister, (through Big Brothers Big Sisters of utah) from 2000-2003, Many of our meetings would involve assistance with homework. I mentored her from the age of nine to 12 years old.

My passions are reading, writing, speaking, proofreading, and assisting others with the proper use of the English language. I do not know what ESL would involve, but this is something I would also like to do, if qualified.
